Back at last

So I thought I'd have a go at baking today. Mostly because I'm hungry, and also I'm trying to avoid doing any real work. I have Mother up for the day, and she's currently watching Ricardo on the Food Network. Put that channel on and you're usually good for a couple of loads of laundry and an internet peek or two.
Anway, here's the recipe I stole and then amended, so I guess it's mine now.
It was called "Caramel Macaroon Bars" and I will amend to my changes

Bake: 360 (360? Seriously? I used 350) degrees F for 20 minutes and again for 25 to 30 minutes
Makes: 9x9-inch pan

1/4 cup melted butter (I used non-hydrogenated margarine)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
2 cups grated cookie or flaked coconut (not sure what the heck cookie coconut is, I used 1/2 sweetened and 1/2 unsweetened coconut)
1 1/3 cups (14-oz. can) sweetened condensed milk (I wanted to use the fat-free kind, but alas, had none)
Caramel Frosting:
Melt 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons milk with 1/4 cup brown sugar. Stir in 1 cup powdered sugar. (I didn't use this - you'll see why)

Combine the first 5 ingredients; blend well. Spread in greased 9x9 pan. Bake at 360 (again with the 360? Why? 350 worked fine!) degrees F for 20 minutes.
Combine coconut and sweetened condensed milk. Spoon over caramel base. Spread to cover.(I melted 3 bars of those Cadbury thins - 2 with almonds and 1 without. I melted them in the nuker and then spread on the top. Pretty and yummy too, I hope). Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until light golden brown. Cool and frost (Ha! no need with the chocolate!). Cut into small squares (Yeah. Like that will happen)

Still baking, but looks good enough to eat. Which I intend to do as soon as I can cut them without burning myself.
